Percy Plunkett Cafe
Percy Plunkett is a cottage style cafe located on Station Street in Penrith. The building itself (previously a house) was built in 1866 and the cafe was named after the original owner ‘Percy Plunkett’. The atmosphere, staff, menu and the architecture of the cafe reflects the beautiful history and memories of the building and you feel at home with the family-like vibe the cafe and staff bring. With an All-Day menu, you can do no wrong. A lover for truffle, whenever I see a cafe have truffle on the menu, they instantly become an 11/10 in my eyes. The Mushrooms On Sourdough (I ordered on Gluten Free Toast) was pure truffle heaven. With sautéed fresh mushrooms, whipped ricotta, truffle, garlic & oregano oil, crunchy kale chips & shaved pecorino, this is the perfect way to start your day. They also do epic corn fritters if you’re interested in more of a ‘brunch’ style meal. For those wanting something sweeter than your average sweet, the pancake is one of their most popular dishes on the menu. It’s not your traditional pancake, it’s a deep dish pancake with butterscotch sauce, white chocolate mousse, caramelised banana, fresh berries and crushed pistachios.
