Devon Cafe, Surry Hills
Devon in Surry Hills looks like a tiny little Japanese cafe from the street but you enter and wander through the cafe to a dining room out the back. They are very well known for their winter truffle menu and source their truffles from Manjimup in Western Australia. We could’ve gone nuts on their truffle menu however we wanted to taste an original dish too this visit. We can confirm that the Truffle Curly Fries were unreal (especially for a Sunday morning breakfast treat). Topped with a salted egg yolk, cheese and truffle we were fighting each other off for the last few chips! We also tried the Omurice and added Fried Chicken which was a great option. A mixture of rice, a Japanese Omelette and a Mushroom Demi-glacé it was a great winter warmer. As we were leaving, there was a line of people out the door so I think this one should definitely be added to your breakfast/brunch list!
