Cafe Oratnek, Redfern.
Cafe Oratnek is the cutest Japanese cafe tucked away in an old terrace house in Redfern. The cosy interior creates a really chilled vibe and the staff are super friendly so the whole experience of dining in is great. We opted for the Pork Katsu Sandwich which was cooked to perfection. The pork was juicy and tender and paired with mustard and Chinese cabbage it was the perfect balance for the delicious Katsu sauce. We also tried their Hayashi Rice which is definitely a comfort dish, so perfect for this winter weather. A mixture of wagyu beef, onions and mushrooms in a tomato sauce (and we added a baked egg) made for a simply filling and hearty meal. They serve up a great coffee for all the coffee snobs out there!
